Hello Everyone. I'd like to get some advice from other moms and dads out there that have gone through the heart surgery process. Let me tell you, the stress is overwhelming. I look at my little guy and tell him that I love him so much and then the tears start rolling, knowing that I have the most perfect gift and yet he has a broken heart. We are not sure when the surgery will be, but I need to prepare myself. He has a AV canel defect. The doctors have told me its a common surgery and everything will be ok. It's so easy for them to say, it's not their child going through this. What should I expect after surgery? When can I hold him again? When will he nurse again? All these questions are floating in my head. I'd really like someone that has been through this to reassure me with answers. Can anyone help?

Hello, my name is Rene'Larson, I have a godson with down syndrom. I thought it would help me to understand down syndrom being involved with this site. My girlfriend hasn't completly accepted the down syndrom as of yet. She feels that there isn't anything wrong with her son. He is doing well though, alittle behind,, growth, and walking, talking. He amazes us the way that he is able to get around. I will download a pickure of him when i figure this out. Any usefull information would be helpfull.
