  • Sorry I do have another question. We have asked our doctors about doing Cord Blood. With techology I believe it is a good idea. Does anyone have any thoughts on this??

  • Hello everyone! I am now 26 weeks pregnant. My husband and I found out at 17 weeks our daughter had a heart defect that was later diagnosed with AV canal defect. With that heart defect there is a 50/50 chance the child having Down Syndrome. We found out at 22 weeks that she does have Down Syndrome. At first everything was really hard to take in. We are taking everything one day at a time but you really dont know what to expect. I was hoping you all my have some suggestions.

  • Hi Dan and welcome to our group! I have a 5 1/2 month old son who had his surgery 8 weeks ago. My son is also having problems with head control. He was doing great until he got ill and had to be on a vent for 3 months. We could not hold him or move him and he lost all control. Now, I work with him on a daily basis. My son still can not be on his tummy yet, so I have been sitting him in a bumbo chair and have a little neck pillow (usually worn to sleep on plains when traveling) this seems to work great. When his muscles are tired, the pillow is there to catch his head. But keep an eye on him as they do wear out easy. Don’t give up, it’s a struggle but he will do it!

  • Hi Dan,
Welcome to the site. Yes I would also go with tummy time, as much as you can, just leave him on his tummy and show him toys for which he will start to raise his head. My daughter Saira also got her head control very late, but dont worry it comes. She is 16 months old now and has started to sit unsupported just 2 months ago. Its beautiful when they achieve their milestones and every little thing is a reason to celebrate.

  • @Dan. Hi there my son is almost seven months as well and my advice is to give him tummy time as much as possible and show him his favorite toys while he is on his tummy.
