  • I would be interested to hear your thoughts. I am expecting a baby girl with Down Syndrome in November. I am not yet showing - at least, I hide it well. When people start noticing, do I tell them that I am expecting a child with Down Syndrome? I am of two minds. One friend advised me that it is no one’s business and a child has the right to the full glory that all other new babies have - and shouldn’t be labelled even before it’s born. Another friend advised me that if I am comfortable saying it - and I say it with a positive attitude - that I should tell anyone. She thinks that it will be easier down the road when they notice the various signs that the baby has DS. And that it is better to allow people to able to talk about it with me rather than behind my back. I don’t know which is right for me of the baby. What are your thoughts?

  • Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you all know that Robbie is doing very well. With the help of a weekly PT seesion and me being able to be at home with him, he can now sit up unsupported with an occasionally fall. He got a GREAT report from the cardiologist. Two holes have disappeared only one left. And that one is so small the doctor was surprised that he could see or hear it. Thank God. The audiologist thinks he may have a middle ear problem but not seriously worried yet. Robbie sees ENT next week. Wish us luck. We are truly blessed. He is a mess. LOL He has lots and lots of personality. Keeps us rolling. I wouldnt trade him in for nothing. He loves to talk on the telephone. So much so that I now have to put the phone on speaker phone. Full of laughter and smiles. My advice would be for the parents of these great kids is to not get discourage. I know at times it seems that they will not reach their milestone, but believe me, they will in their own time. Just love them for what they can do now. And before you know it… BAM…
