  • Hello

I hope that you don’t mind me posting this information, I think that many people may find it useful.

I am a British Psychologist and a Ski Instructor in Austria and I run skiing programs ”Skiing4all” designed for persons with learning difficulties, including those with Down’s Syndrome. To celebrate the new skiing season we are giving away one 5-day ski-break! Anyone with learning difficulty can enter the draw here: http://www.skiing4all.com/Promotions.html. The prize is a 5-day skiing break, which includes a luxury accommodation for the whole family, and for the person with learning difficulty: skiing lessons, skipass, ski equipment hire, swimming pool, pony riding session and other extras. The important thing is that the break is scheduled between 12 and 16th November 2009 and we close the Competition this Sunday, 25th October!

All Skiing4all Programs are designed for Persons with learning difficulties and take place in a beautiful Austrian ski resort of Zell am See. Due to the close proximity of Kaprun glacier, where skiing on real snow is possible all-year round, the Skiing4all Programs this year will run from 8th November 2009 to 3rd of May 2010. The prices start at just 290 Euros for 2 days and 490 Euros for 5 days, and include all day one-to-one skiing sessions with me, skipass, all skiing equipment, daily pick-up service, unlimited use of a swimming pool with spa and slides, diplomas & medals presented during the Award Ceremony and DVD with the skiing memories. What is more, Skiing4all offers free ski equipment hire for all siblings under 18 and even a pony or horse-riding session amidst the stunning Alpine scenery! To read more, please visit http://www.skiing4all.com

I hope you find this information useful and that you spread the word about it! Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Anna Wegner

  • I am glad to find a group like this. I been looking to be connected with other parents that have a child with the same special needs..

  • Hi Justin and All, My grandson Jon has DS and is 15 soon to be sixteen. When he was 4thru10 he went to speech therapy twice a week. In Jr. High His speech teacher thought jon would benefit from a Dynavox. Have you ever heard of it ? It helped him alot. I forgot to mention that he lives with me since almost birth.
His social worker told me about a program they started for young adults 18 and up, and a new one for teenagers. It is at Santana High School. If you want more info let me know.
I would enjoying getting to know more people, and talking about ways to help our children.
