Lily is still working on her word skills. She is now 11! Though she does great with no accidents during the day. She still needs a diaper at night.

Senior year of high school and looking at colleges!
My daughter has just started her period within the last 6 months. Along with her period came a regression in potty training. She stays dry at school and overnight. During the day at home she would rather let off a […]
Grace just started going to a local disabilities worship group run by the church. She goes with a paid chapperone (I use my respite hours for this) who picks her up and drops her back off afterward. She is very happy to have her own activity since her brother has been going all along. I’m so grateful that our church has so many opportunities for…[Read more]
Everythings going good. Gabriel got his special new shoes and braces a few weeks ago. His physical therapist said she doesn’t foresee him needing them for long though. He can now pull himself up to standing when he’s in his playpen or crib.
Hi there… just joined a couple of days ago and still trying to figure out a few aspects of this site.
How does one start a blog here?
Hi Jen. Like you, I’m still trying to figure everything out. Only its not just this site. I’m not very computer literate so I’m trying to figure out the whole computer and internet thing. Your babies are beautiful. How old are they now?
Hi Kimberly… I am computer literate and I find it very confusing… so don’t feel bad.
They are 4 months old now (minus 6 weeks developmentally as they were preemies).
hello I My son Abdullah is one year old but still have not yet started teething. Does any one have any idea when kids with DS start teething. I am just too concerned about this.
My son Connor was slow in getting his teeth as well. His twin sister had a mouth full and he was no where close. In retrospect I truly believe there are no “mistakes” and the slow process of teething goes along with giving your son time to develop the proper muscle tone with jaws, tongue, mouth, throat, digestive system etc to be able to…[Read more]
My husband and I are looking to transfer with his job this summer. We are trying to find the best places in the country for a child with Downs Syndrome and we’re having a hard time finding any information. Our baby girl with D.S. is 3 months old and we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old as well. Suggestions anyone?
HI there – not Colorado!! We had great services when we lived in IL and NJ is supposed to be good too – but don’t let that make your decision – there are so many opportunities everywhere – support groups, not for profits – growing awareness everywhere
Thank you so much! We were actually looking at Colorado, so that’s good to know.
Hi Kari, I’m just finding this group…have you made any decisions yet? My kids were born in Albuquerque, NM and they had a great early intervention program; but, we moved when they were 2 so not sure of programs after that. Jacksonville, NC is NOT a place with great resources.
I live in Jacksonville Arkansas and so far resources seem pretty good, but my baby is only 19 months old so I’m still trying to learn about everything. But we do have a very good pediatrician who is knowledgeable about DS and a good school. Also my pediatrician told me there are two other schools nearby that are also good.
My son Chris is 9 years old and at times he is great and then out of nowhere he starts throwing and hitting. He has hit staff members at school. Has anyone else experienced this ? maybe they can give me a few suggestions. Thank you
is there anyone in NYC that may have some info on middle schools suited for children with Down’s.
Evie is ging to six grade in September and we are looking for a school that will suit her. Don’t want to do the public school. It has not been effective in meeting her needs.
thanks
I look forward to getting to know people on here. Thanks for the invite!
Just joined, wow a fantastic site! Single mom of an 8yr old boy with Down syndrome, parent advocate, and so much more!
