My sister Ellen is 43 but ever since she was a baby she has chewed on one thumb. Usually though it is when she is tired and not upset about something. I think though that it is a coping habit. After all these years she actually has a calous (spelling?) on the thumb.
It has been next to impossible to find any support for family of a Down Syndrome Adult. I feel so fortunate to have found this cite. Hoping to connect with others that can give me advice and support. Hopefully I will not fear the future now.
