I was chatting with a dear friend of mine whose son has Aspersger’s. She was so excited because she FINALLY found a support group that fit her style. We started to compare notes and discovered one thing that turns us off from some parents. I hope readers will not be offended, but we are just [...]

Oh, I was scared to death when I first found out Donna Marie had DS. It’s the unknown that is so scary. I did not know prenatally that she would have DS, but found out after she was born. I am not sure which way (knowing before hand or at birth) is [...]

Holy crap. I haven’t read your blog in a while and now I read this sad story about Lily. My heart breaks for you. I think I would go to the school and ask them to spell out what safety issues they are talking about EXACTLY. If there are some valid ones, [...]

  • Hello Laura! Thank you so much for you message. I am so excited to have found this webiste. We live in a small city and the closest down syndrome meetings are a hours and a half away. So this is a great way for me to learn things from other parents. I do believe that you are right when you say this is the hard part. There is no way to know how down syndrome with effect our daughter until she is born. I will not lie and I am sure every parent with a down syndrome child will say I am scared at this point. Just the not knowing. She seems to be active which is very good but I am sure I worry and think it is not enough. Our last doctors appointment she is pretty average weight. I have to start counting her kicks this next week. Did you have to do that?? Then at 32 weeks I have to start going twice a week for test.. I am guessing to make sure that she is growning?? Sorry I have so many questions. When you go to the doctor they tell you so much stuff when you leave you are like wait what was that for again. Tell me about your little one..

  • Hey everyone. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here. Catching up with every thing Bradley is doing, appointments etc. He is now 10 months old has his two bottom teeth pretty much all the way through now. He’s babbling like there is no tomorrow and loves to play rough. lol he’s a big boy. Eats toast and loves his bananas, pears, juice, still can’t get him to eat any type of cereals especially rice cereal. He gets uncontrollably sick for hours. We saw his dietitian yesterday and gave us alot of good advice as to what we should be giving him at this stage. (YES SPAGHETTI!!) We finally got set up with a Physiotherapist who will be starting to come by our home next week to help with Bradleys muscle tone as he still can’t quite hold up his head on his own but he sure does try. I put up some new photos in his profile photo album. If you have a second have a look.Hope all is well with everyone and have a great day. Bradsdad
