Kayla is now 15 months old. She is so beautiful! She scoots around the house on her bottom since she can not yet crawl. She is quite fast. LOL! I love seeing her explore.

Hi Everyone. My name is Niamh Mc Ardle, I live in Ireland and have 2 sons, Zach and Alex. Zach is 5 and Alex is 4 and Zach has Downs Syndrome. We didn’t know when Zach was born that he had downs. He passed all the usual paediatric tests and it was only when I looked at him later on that I thought he had some of the usual downs features. I…[Read more]
Great story Niamh…it always seems to work that way, initial worry and concern, followed later by a thrilling life of enjoyment! I know where you came from, my daughter was a 1 in 4,600 chance of having Down syndrome, yet here I am. The support is so crucial so for anyone out there I’d like to add to Niamh’s thoughts by saying GO GET that…[Read more]
Hi
Happy to be here and excited to meet some amazing people associated with Down syndrome. Only if I knew how to ”crop my Avatar” then I could post a picture of my little one. I have a long Labor Day weekend so I have some time to figure out what’s most likely something very easy to do!
I started a new blog a few months ago just blabbing about my life experiences with Alopecia and Down syndrome. If anyone would like to come join me and give me any input, I would love it

Hi my name is christina, My son Gabriel has down syndrome. he is two and we are having a hard time getting him to eat. some say it’s because he is picky some say he wants to do it himself. anyone else have this problem? any advice??
do you guys go through early on ?? that sounds like a really good question for the ocupational therapist.. they have answered so many questions about that kind of stuff for me.. although now savannahs just the opisite if i let her feed herself she shuvs handfulls of food in her mouth
although one big thing for her and eating was she would choke really easy because her muscles were too weak.. so just to make sure hes not struggling i would bring it up to the doc and see if they wanna do some kind of test or the early on therapist could come over and watch him eat and tell you whats going on….. good luck
MY Dawn is now 5months old,she is now learning to sit.
Hey Everyone! Just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. God is So Good!!! I have a blog awalktoremember-erica.blogspot.com It’s really just me rambling on about nothing, but it’s fun. I’m new so if ya wanna get on there and help me out a little bit, feel free. Have a GREAT 4th of July Weekend!!!
Everythings going good. Gabriel got his special new shoes and braces a few weeks ago. His physical therapist said she doesn’t foresee him needing them for long though. He can now pull himself up to standing when he’s in his playpen or crib.

Hi there… just joined a couple of days ago and still trying to figure out a few aspects of this site.
How does one start a blog here?
Hi Jen. Like you, I’m still trying to figure everything out. Only its not just this site. I’m not very computer literate so I’m trying to figure out the whole computer and internet thing. Your babies are beautiful. How old are they now?
Hi Kimberly… I am computer literate and I find it very confusing… so don’t feel bad.
They are 4 months old now (minus 6 weeks developmentally as they were preemies).
Hi,
I’m Jen and I’m Mom to 4 month old twins, Wyatt and Zoe. Wyatt has DS, Zoe does not. They also have an older brother Quinn who is 5.
Any DS/Non DS twin parents: how did you juggle the differences in development?
Any twin parents: How did you manage to juggle twins and older children?
Hello Jen! My name is Leslie and like you, I also have twins, one with & one b/g. Their names are Rudy & Veronica and my “babies” will be 25 in a week. It was almost 3 years before I ever met someone else with twins when they were born (of course there were no computers then!! lol). Life has been an adventure thats for sure. I will post more…[Read more]
I guess I didnt really even answer any of your questions huh? old age!! lol Rudy and Veronica were full term and have a brother 3 years older so yeah had my hands full. But in a way, that was a blessing because I didnt really have time to “baby” Rudy so he doesnt really realize he’s any different than anyone else. They stopped being “twins”…[Read more]
Added pics to my album of my twins and especially, Wyatt.
hello I My son Abdullah is one year old but still have not yet started teething. Does any one have any idea when kids with DS start teething. I am just too concerned about this.
My son Connor was slow in getting his teeth as well. His twin sister had a mouth full and he was no where close. In retrospect I truly believe there are no “mistakes” and the slow process of teething goes along with giving your son time to develop the proper muscle tone with jaws, tongue, mouth, throat, digestive system etc to be able to…[Read more]
My husband and I are looking to transfer with his job this summer. We are trying to find the best places in the country for a child with Downs Syndrome and we’re having a hard time finding any information. Our baby girl with D.S. is 3 months old and we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old as well. Suggestions anyone?
HI there – not Colorado!! We had great services when we lived in IL and NJ is supposed to be good too – but don’t let that make your decision – there are so many opportunities everywhere – support groups, not for profits – growing awareness everywhere
Thank you so much! We were actually looking at Colorado, so that’s good to know.
Hi Kari, I’m just finding this group…have you made any decisions yet? My kids were born in Albuquerque, NM and they had a great early intervention program; but, we moved when they were 2 so not sure of programs after that. Jacksonville, NC is NOT a place with great resources.
I live in Jacksonville Arkansas and so far resources seem pretty good, but my baby is only 19 months old so I’m still trying to learn about everything. But we do have a very good pediatrician who is knowledgeable about DS and a good school. Also my pediatrician told me there are two other schools nearby that are also good.
My son Chris is 9 years old and at times he is great and then out of nowhere he starts throwing and hitting. He has hit staff members at school. Has anyone else experienced this ? maybe they can give me a few suggestions. Thank you
Uploaded new pics on my album…check them out!
Daniel did the commando crawl for a while. He got very fast at it, then he crawled bear style. He skipped crawling on all fours. He started walking at about 2 and a half. Now he is six and runs, jumps, and climbs stairs fairly well.
