My Heroes!!!

The people who write the blogs for this site are heroes in my opinion. They add value, information, therapy, content, etc which keeps this website fresh and interactive.

I particularly want to call out the blogs:

Becky’s Next Page — A brilliant blog written by one of our wonderful members…This blog chronicles the life of a 19 year old woman. One of the most interesting sites I have ever read.

The Ordinary Life of An Extraordinary Girl — This blog is about a “year in the life of a girl with Down syndrome”. It is wonderfully written and helps bring readers into their wonderful world. Most of all it is inspiring and makes me as a parent believe that the best is yet to come.

Lily’s Mom — This blog has been dormant for awhile but when it reemerged it is so meaningful and well written. It engages the readers and opens up topics and subjects that need to be discussed.

Thank you so much for your contributions.

Also, I’ve been away from the site for awhile. Life and its circumstances sometimes makes it hard to stay active .. I think I am ready to get back to work.

Thanks so much to the above for keeping things going in my absence. If anyone wants to write a blog on this site, please send me a direct message and I’ll set one up for you…I used to make this capability something that anyone could do but as you can imagine the spam became absolutely suffocating which is one of the reasons that I had to get away from the entire site…

It actually became so unenjoyable to me that I mentally couldn’t return for several months.. I know this must sound weak and probably set this site back quite a bit but I actually had to log in every hour to delete the dozens of new spam blogs and users as well as those who were trying to scam people.

All I want is to a safe haven for people to discuss and enjoy and it became a major chore …

I particularly want to apologize to those people who were depending on me to keep this site up and running and growing everyday. Some of you were very active and were willing to put in your personal time but things just simply fell apart on my end.

If anyone wants to contribute content to the front of this site and or help me keep things clean, please let me know…I really need the help :) ..also, if anyone can think of things they would like to have different, I’m feeling motivated again to start working on this little project.

Sincerely,

Justin

Thank you Justin for making this site even possible. I like this site so much that I am trying it with another network for adults with disabilities. I can’t imagine how much work you have put in.
    Sincerely, Joyce

Justin – Personally I would like to thank you for the opportunity to share my story. It is so comforting to know there are so many families out there who share our common special kids. By creating this site, you enabled a number of caring and sharing individuals, who not only want advice, but want to share experiences, perhaps hoping to help others – especially younger kids. Your foresight and web skills made this possibility. I have learned so much! Thank you, thank you…I am happy to help in anyway I can.

Thank you so much for this site. and for giving me a shout out for my blog! the great thing is reading about other peoples life and knowing what issues could arise. because of your “my heroes” comment i started reading about Alex! I have had so many questions in my head about my future with Lily and after reading about Alex i feel so much more educated! we are all so awesome! As a parent of a DS child i could say we are all such heroes!

And thank you again for this site. i was sorry to read that it has been very hard with the spam. but you are so appreciated and our a hero for us all too!
